Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. The Heart of Texas Film Society hosts the Waco Movie Club. This monthly no-cost movie club is an opportunity for Waco area film lovers to gather, discuss films and develop community. Typically, we arrange to watch a film ahead of the meeting, then join in a "book-club" style discussion with attendees.
  2. $39,591 spent. The Heart of Texas Film Society produced the Waco Independent Film Festival: July 17th through July 20th. We hosted 43 events over four days, featuring 140 films including feature films, shorts, and music videos from 12 countries, including Singapore and Kazakhstan. In this weekend we also included 3 panel discussions on film production topics and a filmmakers tour of the city of Waco. We saw 710 unique attendees through this weekend of film programming.
  3. $150 spent. The Heart of Texas Film hosts an annual local film showcase. This is an opportunity for Waco based filmmakers to show their work to an audience, connect with other professional and amateur filmmakers and enhance the network of the film industry in Central Texas.
