Impact evidence

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $473,703 spent. CONTINUED THE PROGRAM OF FEEDING OVER 500 CHILDREN EACH DAY WHICH INCLUDES THREE MEALS A DAY AT THE PRIMARY SCHOOL AND A LUNCH MEAL AT THE CHURCH FOR SECONDARY SCHOOL STUDENTS WHO WOULD OTHERWISE NOT HAVE A MEAL. THE CHILD SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM INCREASED TO OVER 250 STUDENTS BEING SPONSORED WHICH ENSURED THEIR ABILITY TO ATTEND SCHOOL. CELEBRATED ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR AS ALL EIGHTEEN PRIMARY 7TH GRADE STUDENTS PASSED THEIR P.L.E. (PRIMARY LEAVING EXAM) WHICH QUALIFIED THEM FOR PLACEMENT IN THE SECONDARY SCHOOL. PURCHASE OF A 15 PASSENGER VAN AT THE START OF THE SCHOOL YEAR IN FEBRUARY FOR SCHOOL USE AND ITS FUNCTIONS. AT THE SCHOOL MANY IMPROVEMENTS WERE MADE WHICH INCLUDE THE COMPLETION OF THE CLASSROOMS 16,17 AND 18 WHICH BRINGS THE SCHOOL BLOCK STRUCTURE TO FULL FUNCTIONAL USE. THE KITCHEN WAS UPGRADED TO INCLUDE COOKING STOVES TO A COVERED OUTSIDE LOCATION FOR IMPROVED VENTILATION. ADDITIONAL COOKING SUPPLIES WERE PURCHASED FOR PROPER UTILIZATION OF THE UPGRADE. AN INCINERATOR WAS CONSTUCTED TO PROVIDE PROPER DISPOSAL OF MEDICAL WASTE FOR THE MEDICAL CLINIC LOCATED AT THE SCHOOL. OTHER IMPROVEMENTS AT THE SCHOOL INCLUDE AN EXPANSION OF THE BOYS LATRINE FOR BATHING, A COMMERCIAL PRINTER FOR SCHOOL USE, PURCHASE OF SECURITY CAMERAS AND INSTALATION OF SOLAR LIGHTING THROUHGOUT THE SCHOOL GROUNDS FOR INCREASED SECURITY. WE ENROLLED MANY OF THE SPONSORED CHILDREN IN VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS WHICH INCLUDE NURSING, MECHANICS, BEAUTICIAN,HOTEL CATERING, SECRETARIAL, AND TECHNOLOGY. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR INCOME AND SELF SUSTANABILITY IN THE FUTURE. WE CONTINUE TO EMPHASIZE COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECTS FOR THE CHILDREN ENROLLED AT THE SCHOOL. THE STUDENTS CONTINUE TO EXCEL IN SPORTS, FINE ARTS, AND ACADEMIC COMPETITIONS. THE STAFF AT THE SCHOOL PARTICIPATED IN CONTINUING EDUCATION CLASSES THROUGHOUT THE YEAR. FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIVE YEARS, DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE A TEAM FROM AMERICA WHICH INCLUDED YOUTH. THIS TEAM WITNESSED A DAY LONG DEDICATION OF THE SCHOOL TO THE COMMUNITY WHICH WAS ATTENDED BY GOVERNMENT LEADERS FROM THE COUNTRY. ONE OF THE BIGGEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS WAS BEING ABLE TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION ON A MULTIPURPOSE USE BUILDING AT THE SCHOOL WHICH WILL SERVE AS A DINING HALL FOR THE OVER 315 STUDENTS WHO NOW ATTEND THE SCHOOL. THIS BUILDING WILL ALSO SERVE AS A MEETING PLACE FOR THE CHURCH THAT CURRENTLY MEETS AT THE SCHOOL AND CAN ALSO BE UTILIZED FOR COMMUNITY FUNCTIONS.
