What it says it does

The organization was established to address housing insecurity and housing instability within Hartford's low- and moderate-income communities. In alignment with the City of Hartford Consolidated Plan and HUD priorities under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, we support programs that serve homeless individuals, those at risk of homelessness, and income-eligible households seeking affordable rental housing or pathways to homeownership. Our work advances community development goals by increasing housing access, strengthening neighborhood stability, and supporting vulnerable residents in achieving safe, permanent housing in the best interest of the City of Hartford.

Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. Our organization has extensive experience working with individuals and families experiencing homelessness and those at imminent risk of housing loss, with a particular focus on Veterans. As a Veteran who has personally experienced temporary homelessness and successfully transitioned to stable housing, our leadership brings both lived experience and professional expertise to program design and service delivery. This perspective informs a trauma-informed, housing-first approach that prioritizes rapid stabilization, dignity, and long-term self-sufficiency. Over the past 15 years, organizational leadership has operated and managed residential properties, including transitional housing environments serving vulnerable populations. Through these operations, we have coordinated closely with community providers, landlords, workforce partners, and local housing systems to quickly identify safe housing placements and remove barriers to tenancy. Our established landlord network significantly increases access to units for Veterans with prior evictions, poor credit, or justice involvement. We have experience assisting Veterans in accessing entitlement benefits, employment services, transportation, and community-based behavioral health supports. We coordinate directly with VA medical center staff, including homeless program personnel, to facilitate continuity of care and ensure rapid linkage to medical and mental health services. Our approach incorporates housing stability planning, income maximization, and structured case management with measurable outcomes tied to permanent housing retention.
