Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $398,253 spent. YWS provides lifelong care to wildlife native to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem that Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks has deemed as unable to survive if released back into their natural habitats. The wildlife were injured, orphaned, or habituated to humans. Providing lifelong care includes safe habitats, food, and medical care. As of 2024, resident species included: American Black Bear, American Badger, Bobcats, Gray Wolf, Coyote, Red Fox, Bison, Racoon, Sandhill Crane, Turkey Vulture, Crow, Raven, Owl, Raptors and Corvid, and Salamander
  2. $74,412 spent. The wildlife residents at YW have unique stories of survival creating an opportunity for public education. As indicated by our mission, sharing a message of education and conservation is a focus of the organization. During 2024, YWS conducted school programs, tours and encounters. The full program reached over 4,415 students through programming and thousands of visitors participating in keeper talks. The program continued to grow in 2024 and was supported by two educators, one full-time and one part-time, to serve the demand for environmental and wildlife programs, and to service area schools.
