Programs described in its return (1)
- $1.1 million spent. Boy With a Ball Global functions as a group that supports local teams worldwide to implement the following programs: 1. LOVE YOUR CITY: Love your city mobilizes and equips youth as change-makers to transform economically disadvantaged communities. These young people weave together volunteers from every sector across a city to go into the city's toughest neighborhoods to build relationships with each resident, identify the community's central obstacles and assets, and launch developmental mentoring relationships and small groups. These include job skills training, language classes, financial management classes, tutoring centers, and scholarships that remove every barrier for a rising generation to graduate from high school and college and find their place in the workforce. 2. Velocity: Velocity is a cross-age mentoring program in which high school students are trained to be mentors to middle school students during a weekly after-school program. Velocity works to increase students' connectedness to their family, school, and community and a positive vision for their future. The program helps students graduate from high school as healthy, well-developed leaders who can turn and make a difference in their own neighborhoods.
