Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This return does not answer enough of the governance questions to score.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. THE TEXAS GAS ASSOCIATION UTILIZES VARIOUS MEETINGS FOR THE ASSOCIATION MEMBERS AND AGENCIES TO PROVIDE A FORUM FOR THE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, BEST PRACTICES AND MEANS OF COMPLIANCE WITH RULES AND TO ADVISE OF UPCOMING NEW REGULATIONS AND ANY LEGISLATION THAT WOULD AFFECT THE NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY. THESE MEETINGS PROVIDE A FORUM TO CLARIFY AND EXPLAIN CURRENT MEANS AND METHODS TO COMPLY. THESE MEETINGS INCLUDE AN ANNUAL OPERATIONS AND MANAGEMENT CONFERENCE WITH VARIOUS INFORMATIVE BREAKOUT SESSIONS, BOARD AND COMMITTEE MEETINGS, AND ROUNDTABLES OFFERED FOR VARIOUS INDUSTRY NICHES, INCLUDING DISTRIBUTION, TRANSMISSION (PIPELINE), SAFETY AND DAMAGE PREVENTION. THESE ROUNDTABLES ARE DIRECTED TO THE SPECIFIC NEEDS AND INTERESTS OF THE VARIOUS CATEGORIES OF MEMBERSHIP WITHIN THE ASSOCIATION. THESE MEETINGS OFFER AN OPPORTUNITY TO EXCHANGE BEST PRACTICES, IDEAS, AND OPERATIONAL ISSUES FACED BY THE INDUSTRY'S VARIOUS STAKEHOLDERS.
  2. THE TEXAS GAS ASSOCIATION UTILIZES MEMBERSHIP DUES AND PROFITS FROM THE VARIOUS MEETINGS TO SUPPORT THE ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL OF THE ASSOCIATION, OFFICE EXPENSES, TRAVEL, HOTEL ACCOMODATIONS, PER-DIEM EXPENSES WHILE TRAVELING, TRAINING FOR THE TGA STAFF AND PUBLIC RELATIONS AND OUTREACH OF THE ASSOCIATIONS, WHICH INCLUDES ATTENDANCE AT OTHER ASSOCIATIONS, BOARD MEETINGS, AND REGIONAL MEETINGS AROUND THE STATE. THE ADMINISTRATIVE PERSONNEL ACTIVELY VISIT AND MEET WITH ASSOCIATION MEMBERS AROUND THE STATE AS A MEANS OF OUTREACH, ADDING VALUE FOR THE MEMBERSHIP, AND PROVIDING AN OPPORTUNITY FOR THESE MEMBERS TO HAVE INPUT INTO THE VISION AND DIRECTION OF THE ASSOCIATION, ENSURING THESE REMOTE MEMBERS IDEAS AND DIRECTIONS ARE HEARD BY THE REST OF THE MEMBERSHIP.
  3. THE TEXAS GAS ASSOCIATION (TGA, INC.) UTILIZES THE DUES AND PROFITS FROM VARIOUS MEETINGS TO COMMUNICATE WITH THE MEMBERSHIP, INCLUDING, BUT NOW LIMITED TO, NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING RULES AND REGULATIONS AND THE VARIOUS MEETINGS REGARDING THESE RULES. THE WEBSITES (TEXASGAS.COM AND TEXASGASASSOCIATION.COM) AND EMAIL SYSTEMS SERVE AS A PLATFORM FOR DISSEMINATING THIS INFORMATION, SERVING AS A PLATFORM FOR THE POSITIVE EXCHANGE OF IDEAS, VISION, AND DIRECTION OF THE ASSOCIATION TO ENSURE THAT THE GENERAL PUBLIC, AND THE MEMBER COMPANIES HAVE A FAVORABLE VIEW OF THE NATURAL GAS INDUSTRY IN TEXAS.
