Programs described in its return (2)
- $21.0 million spent. THE ORGANIZATION HOSTS THE ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL, AN ANNUAL COLLEGIATE FOOTBALL POST-SEASON BOWL GAME. THE ALLSTATE SUGAR BOWL IS ONE OF THE OLDEST BOWL GAMES IN THE COUNTRY, HOSTING ITS 91ST ANNUAL COLLEIGIATE BOWL GAME ON JANUARY 2, 2025. THE GAME WAS UNEXPECTEDLY DELAYED BY ONE DAY DUE TO A TERRORIST ATTACK IN NEW ORLEANS ON JANUARY 1, 2025. DUE TO THIS INCIDENT, THE USUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT SURVEYS WERE NOT ABLE TO BE COMPLETED. HOWEVER, BASED ON HISTORICAL MEASURES, IT IS ESTIMATED THAT APPROXIMATELY 70% OF THE ATTENDEES OF THE NEAR SELLOUT WERE FROM OUTSIDE THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS METROPOLITAN AREA.
- $1.6 million spent. THE ORGANIZATION ANNUALLY SPONSORS 25+ AMATEUR SPORTING AND RECOGNITION EVENTS IN LOUISIANA AND AROUND THE GREATER NEW ORLEANS METROPOLITAN AREA. TO PROMOTE TOURISM AND AMATEUR SPORTS IN THE AREA, THE SUGAR BOWL SUPPORTED STATE AND LOCAL ASSOCIATIONS FOR PREP FOOTBALL, VOLLEYBALL, GOLF, REGATTA, LACROSSE, SOCCER, TENNIS, AND SWIMMING. IN ADDITION, THE ORGANIZATION SPONSORS THE MANNING QUARTERBACK AWARD, THE EDDIE ROBINSON COACH OF THE YEAR AWARD, THE NEW ORLEANS SPORTS HALL OF FAME, AND THE LOCAL CHAPTER OF THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL FOUNDATION. AS PREVIOUSLY MENTIONED, THE USUAL ECONOMIC IMPACT SURVEYS WERE NOT ABLE TO BE COMPLETED DUE TO THE TERRORIST ATTACK, HOWEVER, BASED ON HISTORICAL MEASURES, THE SUM TOTAL OF THE ECONOMIC IMPACT FOR ALL SUGAR BOWL ACTIVITIES IS ESTIMATED TO BE APPROXIMATELY (CONTINUED ON SCHEDULE O) $200 MILLION IN 2024-2025. THIS WOULD INCLUDE APPROXIMATELY $20 MILLION IN DIRECT TAX REVENUE FOR THE CITY AND STATE.
