Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

- The Association promotes the Historic Old Town Auburn business area for its 98 current business members by maintaining a web-site and data base to promote the "Old Town" businesses with membership directory registrations and to allow on-line vendor registration for events, email campaigns, and payment processing. All business members are given opportunity to participate in sponsored events by having either a booth on the street or to remain open during the hours of the event. During the year, online presence increased by 25% with social media followers compared to the prior year, after hiring a media consultant. Also, this year $10,000 was contributed towards an Auburn city project for signage outside the particular Business Association area for ensuring a comprehensive and cohesive wayfinding system throughout the city of Auburn area directing local community members and tourists to points of interest and historical sites including the historic "Old Town" district.
- Several events are sponsored and organized by the Association to bring both local residents and tourists to the Old Town Auburn business area. About 2,000 to 4,000 visitors typically attend each of the main events during the year: Auburn Co-op,held in Summer and Fall, and Country Christmas during December. Vendors, entertainment, food and drink are typically available along the closed streets and sidewalks of Old Town Auburn for each of these events. Approximately 70 retail and restaurant businesses participate with either outdoor venues or inside the established brick & mortor Old Town retail businesses and restaurants. Also promoted is the Late Night Christmas Shopping. Other events for the community include Cinco de Mayo and Safe Trick or Treating.
- The Asssociation maintains and preserves the historical environment within and surrounding the Old Town Auburn area to keep the setting clean, safe, colorful, and in good repair for visitors to enjoy and appreciate. This includes maintaining and preserving a small park, and providing sanitation, lighting, and security equipment. This year members worked with the City to encourage and assist vacant building owners to improve their structure and offer them for rent. This resulted in renovation of two buildings towards goal of no vacancies in Historic Old Town.
