- $395,266 spent. Our main goal is for Puerto Ricos youth affected by poverty and inequality to have access to opportunities that enable them to pursue and succeed in postsecondary education, leading to better careers and an improved quality of life, while also strengthening Puerto Ricos economic outlook. ColaborativoPR works toward this goal by preparing and equipping disadvantaged and marginalized high school students with the tools they need to be ready for postsecondary studies, ensuring they are admitted to, enrolled in, and able to attain a postsecondary degree. Our model focuses on three key areas: University Life Planning, Academic Achievement, and Social-Emotional Development. Through this model, we provide academic counseling sessions, university visits, local college entrance exam preparation, FAFSA application assistance, and social-emotional support programs aligned with our postsecondary degree attainment goals. Some of our achievements for 20242025 include: 750 students from Loza participated in the College Access and Success Program. An average participation rate of 87% across the six college counseling sessions, with 93% of enrolled students meeting at least once with our college counselors. A 70% participation rate in university visits. 94% of the 2025 graduating cohort from Lozas two high schools applied to a total of 18 postsecondary institutions in Puerto Rico. A total of 224 applications were submitted, with 61% directed toward private institutions and 39% toward public institutions.
