Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $393,968 spent. Chapters: In 2024, SMGA through its 8 chapters and our American Golfer Program, provided rehabilitative golf instructions to over 215 Veterans and Service Members. 180 of those Veterans completed the golf lessons and received a new set of custom-fitted golf clubs to match their individual requirements. The Atlanta Chapter sponsored their second Golf Tournament and Golf Clinic Series, providing lessons and clubs to 6 Veterans. Through our own tournaments as well as the tournaments run by our supporters, our Veterans had many opportunities to get out on the golf courses. Several of our lucky Veterans got to participate in events like Monday After the Masters, at Myrtle Beach, and some got to participate in Pro-Am events with PGA Golfers.
  2. $257,293 spent. Tournaments: For 2024 we moved our annual SMGA Tournament from Manor County Club to Norbeck Country Club. The tournament remained our largest fund raiser. For 2024 the tournament at Norbeck County Club raised over $113,000 in revenue. In addition, our 4th annual Vet-Am tournament at Argyle Country Club continues to grow. For 2024 the tournament revenue increased to over $46,000. In addition, the New England/Rhode Island Chapter of SMGA hosted 5 tournaments throughout New England to include tournaments at Springfield CC, Sharon CC, Wedgewood, and Ferncroft CC in Massachusetts and a tournament at Pawtucket CC in Rhode Island.
