Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $36.3 million spent. THE CENTER IS A SHOWCASE FOR THE FINEST IN ESTABLISHED AND DEVELOPING CULTURAL PROGRAMS. IT IS THE FOUNDATION ON WHICH ITS RESIDENT COMPANIES (FLORIDA GRAND OPERA, MIAMI CITY BALLET, AND NEW WORLD SYMPHONY) BUILD THEIR PROGRAMS AND EXTEND THEIR REACH. THE CENTER ALSO SERVES AS A LABORATORY FOR SMALLER, EMERGING ORGANIZATIONS BY PROVIDING FIRST-CLASS, ACCESSIBLE FACILITIES. PROGRAMMING INCLUDES BROADWAY MUSICALS; WORLD MUSIC AND DANCE; LATIN POP; CABARET; JAZZ; HOLIDAY SPECIALS; THEATRE; STAND-UP COMEDY; CLASSICAL MUSIC; AND MODERN DANCE.
  2. $3.7 million spent. ARTS EDUCATION AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT ARE MAJOR COMPONENTS OF THE CENTER'S MISSION. THE CENTER HAS CREATED A STRONG, MULTI-FACETED INITIATIVE THAT ADDRESSES ARTS EDUCATION IN BOTH COMPREHENSIVE WAYS (E.G., LEARNING THROUGH THE ARTS) AND FOCUSED, INDIVIDUALIZED EFFORTS (SUCH AS AILEYCAMP MIAMI). OVERALL, APPROXIMATELY 80,000 K-12 STUDENTS IN MIAMI-DADE COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS ARE IMPACTED BY THESE EFFORTS EVERY YEAR.
