Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (8)
  1. $12,630 spent. Guest Coach Events-- Throughout the membership year, Ozark Figure Skating brings in highly credentialed guest coaches to provide group seminars and private lessons open to skaters of all levels. Our guest coaches this fiscal year included an Olympian figure skater and a US Figure Skating technical specialist. These guest coach opportunities support our skating members in their endeavors to advance on the ice and to provide instruction from a valuable new perspective. We had 42 skaters participate in private lessons and group classes with our Technical Specialist Guest Coach and 61 skaters participate in our skating camp with our Olympian Guest Coach.
  2. $12,443 spent. Annual Christmas Show-- Ozark Figure Skating Club hosted our annual Holiday Show which provide skating opportunities for all levels of skaters from beginners to our most advanced to participate in musical numbers that vary in size-- from solos to large group numbers. Our 2024 show had 78 skaters that skated in at least one musical number. This program provides experience without the pressure that comes with skating competitions and testing skate levels. It also provides participants in the group numbers an opportunity to connect with other skaters on and off the ice in a sport that can be isolating if community is not fostered.
  3. $9,295 spent. Pigtail Classic Figure Skating Competition-- Ozark Figure Skating Club hosts an annual figure skating competition. This year's competition had approximately 81 skating participants. Competition gives skaters the opportunity to advance their skating as well as provide a space to practice good sportsmanship amongst their competitors. Competitions are open to skaters from other US Figure Skating Clubs which provides members with opportunities to connect with skaters from around the region.
  4. $6,685 spent. Membership Registration with US Figure Skating or Learn to Skate USA-- When joining Ozark Figure Skating Club as a skating member, membership includes either US Figure Skating or Learn to Skate USA Membership registration. These memberships provide skaters with the ability to compete or test their skating skills in US Figure Skating sanctioned competitions and test sessions. It is a necessity for those who skate with these incredibly common skating goals in mind. We provided 102 skaters in our club with memberships to US Figure Skating or Learn to Skate USA.
  5. $2,587 spent. Member Meetings-- Our organization's 102 skating members and their families were invited to participate in our members only event meetings. These events include built in town halls to keep members up to date on club activities, help provide informative messages from US Figure Skating about testing competition and SkateSafe, and open the floor for questions. Additionally, our events include to a fun activity to keep events feeling light with opportunity to socialize with fellow members to deepen their sense of community within the club.
  6. $1,757 spent. Figure Skating Test Sessions-- Ozark Figure Skating Club opened up 9 virtual test sessions throughout the fiscal year, with 98 tests submitted in the duration. These test sessions give our club's skaters and other US Figure Skating skating members the opportunity to submit their recorded test videos featuring their skating skills to be reviewed by US Figure Skating judges. There are levels in which the skater can pass and advance through to further their achievements within the sport.
  7. $724 spent. Local Community Events-- Ozark Figure Skating Club took part in two Community Events in order to inform the public of our local presence in the community and encourage and invite interested parties to join our community. The first was participating in our local Christmas Parade which takes place right next to our training facility. We got the word out about our organization and used candy as a means to provide links to more information about our club and our upcoming Holiday Show. Our second event, National Skate Event, is a way to encourage our community to try figure skating. We provide information about Learn to Skate USA classes, group programming at our training facility, and on ice instruction for those just starting out needing some tips.
  8. Big Spirals/Little Swizzles Mentorship Program-- Ozark Figure Skating Club has a Big/Little mentorship program in which we pair up more experienced skaters with skaters new to the sport called Big Spirals/Little Swizzles. We created tasks and challenges throughout the year for the Bigs and Littles to get to know one another which helped integrate our newest members feel supported in our skating community. While the programs costs us $0.00 this fiscal year, it helped create meaningful connections between skaters in our club. This year we had 20 skaters participate in Big Spirals/Little Swizzles.
