Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $341,533 spent. The UTOPIA Washington Youth Program is dedicated to empowering young people to thrive and lead by amplifying their voices, breaking barriers, and fostering opportunities for future success. Our vision is to create a world where all young people are empowered to lead, advocate, and excel while shaping a more equitable future for their communities. Our program centers leadership development, advocacy, and academic success while uplifting the identities and lived experiences of Queer and Trans Pacific Islander and QTBIPOC youth. Through culturally grounded mentorship, community engagement, and educational programming, we create spaces where young people are encouraged to embrace their authentic selves while developing the skills needed to become leaders in their schools and communities. At the heart of the UTOPIA WA Youth Program is a commitment to honoring Indigenous cultural practices, storytelling, and community values while supporting youth in navigating the challenges they may face in educational and social systems. In 2025, the program experienced significant growth and impact. One of the major highlights was our participation in the Lau Samoa Academic and Cultural Arts Competition in May 2025. Through our Ala Mai program, we were able to take 31 students to participate in this prestigious event celebrating Samoan language, culture, and academic excellence. Our students demonstrated both cultural pride and academic dedication, earning 2nd place in overall performance, 3rd place in overall academic performance, and 3rd place overall in the competition. This milestone represented not only achievement but also the power of cultural identity as a foundation for student confidence and success. Another major initiative in 2025 was the expansion of our school partnerships. The UTOPIA WA Youth Program successfully expanded to two new high school sites, Rainier Beach High School and Kent Meridian High School, while continuing our programming at Chief Sealth International High School. These partnerships allow us to provide culturally responsive mentorship, leadership development opportunities, and safe community spaces directly within school environments. Across both school-based and after-school programming, we intentionally serve 2SLGBTQIA+ youth while also supporting Pacific Islander students and families. Our partner schools recognize the importance of this intersectional approach, valuing UTOPIA WAs ability to support young people who navigate both cultural and gender or sexuality identities. By centering youth voice, leadership, and cultural pride, the UTOPIA WA Youth Program continues to build a generation of confident leaders prepared to advocate for themselves and their communities. Major Events / Campaign Statistics *Leadership Retreat: 31 Pacific Islander students participated in a youth leadership retreat focused on social and emotional development, education empowerment workshops, and building healthy community relationships and connections. *Academic Impact: 75% of students who attended the leadership retreat showed improvement in academic performance by June 2025. *Friendsgiving Community Feeding: Served 100+ students during Friendsgiving events at Chief Sealth International High School and Rainier Beach High School. *ManaFest Back2School Giveaway: Distributed 529 backpacks filled with school supplies to students and families in the community.
  2. $425,104 spent. Our Community Services team continued our Starlight & Moonlight outreach activities. These activities take place twice a month to provide resources to unhoused individuals, street based sex workers, and community members with limited access to basic needs. This activity provided warm meals, hygiene & safe sex kits, self-defense & harm reduction supplies, and resources to support victims of crimes and sexual abuse. With the recent passing of the SOAP/SODA laws out of the City of Seattle Council, compounded with the presence of ICE and local law enforcements, our team staff has observed a decline while trying to engage community members. Many street-based workers had relocated further away from the usual areas which caused us to venture further away from our usual meeting locations. This in turn provided more safety for our street workers as we carried out our commitments to meeting them where they are most comfortable - Community Members served: 219, Care Work: 82 Active In 2025, UTOPIA Washingtons Food Access Network Program continued advancing our organizations mission and values by strengthening food access, supporting environmental justice efforts, and serving communities disproportionately impacted by environmental and economic inequities. Through expanded food distribution services, culturally relevant programming, and strategic capacitybuilding efforts, the program reached a record breaking 14,7696 household members with a total of 5,162 food pantry visitors, while providing 6,600 hot meals, and moved a hefty inventory of a whopping total of 213,160 pounds of food across King, Pierce, Snohomish, and other counties throughout the year. The majority of those served were Pacific Islanders (52.8%), followed by Black/African American (13.2%), Asian American (8.8%), Hispanic/Latino (9%), and American Indian/Native/Indigenous communities (1.4%). Additionally, 18.1% of participants identified as LGBTQ+, a priority community for UTOPIA Washington. Families with children and adults aged 2664 represented the highest proportion of service users. In response to heightened food insecurity caused by federal cuts to SNAP/EBT benefits and other safety net programs, UTOPIA Makeki expanded the operational hours of the Makeki beginning December 1, 2024. The new scheduleTuesThurs (14 PM) and Fri (24 PM) enabled the Community Services team to serve more families experiencing immediate needs. Despite the increased demand, the pantry continued providing highquality, culturally relevant foods to diverse community members. Total of 147,696 community were served in 2025.
  3. $625,133 spent. Mapu Maia Clinic is a community-based health program focused on improving access to care for transgender and gender-diverse people, Pacific Islanders, people of color, and individuals who are uninsured or underinsured. Our goal is simple: to make healthcare easier to access for people who often face barriers when trying to get the care they need. Many members of the communities we serve have experienced challenges in traditional healthcare systems. These can include lack of insurance, high costs, language barriers, discrimination, or difficulty finding providers who understand their cultural background or lived experiences. Mapu Maia Clinic works to help reduce those barriers by providing services in a way that is respectful, welcoming, and rooted in community. Through the clinic, we provide free and low-cost health services, health education, patient navigation, and referrals to trusted providers. A large part of our work involves helping people understand how to access care, find the right services, and navigate complicated healthcare systems. For many of our patients, this support makes it possible for them to receive care they may not have otherwise been able to access. We also recognize the importance of culture and community in health and wellbeing. Our approach centers respect, understanding, and the strengths that exist within Pacific Islander communities and other communities of color. As we strive to create a space where people feel comfortable and supported, our hope is that this will encourage our community to take control of their own health. In 2025, Mapu Maia Clinic expanded its reach by connecting with more community members than ever through clinic services, outreach events, and partnerships. The clinic continued to serve an even more diverse patient population, including Pacific Islanders, people of color, transgender and gender-diverse individuals, and many who were uninsured or underinsured. A key milestone this year was the addition of new volunteer healthcare providers, which helped increase the clinics capacity to serve the community and expand the range of services available. These efforts, along with strengthened partnerships with community organizations and healthcare providers, helped improve access to care for the communities we serve. Community Demographic Attendance / Amounts Served or Provided : 774 free clinic visits to receive medical care. 300 patients seen through clinic visits and support services in 2025. 120+ individuals received patient navigation support to help connect them to healthcare services, insurance resources, and referrals. 174 mental health sessions to support emotional wellbeing and connect individuals to helpful resources. Most individuals served were Pacific Islanders, people of color, and individuals who were uninsured or underinsured. 2,000+ individual encounters, from weekly harm reduction outreach in 2025. 2,000+ health resources distributed, including harm reduction supplies, safer sex materials, and health education information. 52 street outreach conducted throughout the year. 10 health education sessions hosted focused on preventive care and navigating healthcare systems. Expanded partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations to strengthen referral networks. Improved clinic operations and electronic health record systems to better track services and community needs
