Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (5)
  1. $49,758 spent. Since we rented a new gallery in Fort Myers, we have been able to greatly expand events open to the public. This includes free weekly Lunch & Learn talks from April to October, free monthly speakers from November to March. Drop-in painting every week is open to any artist, as is our plein air painting in Lee County, usually twice a week year-round. The public has also been able to view art exhibits that change monthly. Our 75th anniversary party was also open to the community. We welcome anyone at our paid workshops.
  2. $5,300 spent. This year we continued and expanded programs to benefit the community. We gave our annual art awards to seniors at Cypress Lake High School, an arts magnet school. We also gave a donation to Fort Myers United Church of Christ, which had given us meeting space after Hurricane Ian. New this year were grants to the charter school at Harlem Heights, a historically disadvantaged neighborhood in Fort Myers. We also contributed funds to a member who runs art programs at nursing homes and memory care units in Fot Myers.
  3. $3,840 spent. Again this year, our juried shows in galleries around Lee Country allowed the community to see our art in other places. One show was held in our gallery. The other two were in Cape Coral and Bonita Springs. These juried and judged shows allow the public to see quality art for free.
  4. $14,461 spent. Workshops:We were able to expand our offerings to about a dozen workshops, as well as regular watercolor classes during the winter season. Non-members participated in these progams.
  5. $18,051 spent. Exhibits: With the new gallery space, we were able to invite the community to new monthly art exhibits all summer, as well as a variety of winter season exhibits.
