Programs described in its return (4)
- $13,464 spent. House of Heroes improves the living conditions of military and public safety veterans-and their spouses-who need assistance maintaining their homes. We recruit community volunteers to provide the labor and skilled support for each selected project day, while supplying the basic materials needed to complete the repairs. Each home is carefully assessed to identify the most urgent needs. We then raise the necessary funds to cover all project costs, train volunteers, and oversee the workday to ensure repairs are completed safely and effectively.
- $39,933 spent. House of Heroes recognizes and honors veterans who have served our country through a formal recognition program. During the reporting period, more than 50 veterans were honored in a special ceremony attended by over 200 volunteers and team captains. Each veteran was presented with a United States flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol in their honor, symbolizing appreciation on behalf of a grateful nation.
- $41,428 spent. House of Heroes, Inc. provides ongoing guidance and support to its affiliate chapters through training, technical assistance, and program oversight to help ensure they achieve their stated goals and objectives. The organization also assists affiliates with fundraising efforts to support and sustain their mission. Support also includes costs associated with meetings, training conferences, and travel necessary to effectively deliver these services.
- House of Heroes strengthened communities and expanded its impact by fostering team building through its volunteer service projects. Individuals, civic groups, corporate partners, and community organizations worked side by side to complete home repairs for veterans in a single day. These collaborative projects promoted leadership development, improved communication skills, and built lasting relationships among participants while uniting diverse groups around a shared mission of serving those who have served.
