Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $137,663 spent. The BCO Benevolence Fund, Inc. was formed for the purpose of providing emergency hardship assistance to the Business Capacity Owners (BCOs) under contract to Landstar System, Inc. and its subsidiaries and the immediate family members of those BCOs. BCOs are not employees of the Landstar System, rather they are small business owners and independent owner operators of sales facilities and equipment serving Landstar. It is anticipated that the grants would be made for food, clothing, housing, repairs, transportation, medical assistance, funeral expenses, and other goods and services typically associated with an unforeseen event or circumstance such as a hurricane, fire, death, medical illness or accident. In order to receive an emergency hardship grant from the fund, the individual shall submit the required application and sufficient supporting documentation to support a finding that the recipient is "distressed"needy" as a result of an unforeseen event or circumstance. The fund distributed 42 grants during 2024 for a total of $137,663, an average of approximately $3,277 per grant recipient.
