D/B/A Carolinas Continuecare Hospital at University (Carolinas CCH at University) operated a long-term acute care hospital in North Carolina until March 2, 2022 when it ceased operating as a hospital and providing care under its hospital license. The LTACH then moved out of the leased space of its host hospital, Atrium Health University City, on March 15, 2022. The organization is currently winding down affairs. Until March 2, 2022. Carolinas CCH at University operated as a "hospital within a hospital" yet it was a separate fully licensed acute care hospital with the ability to provide intensive and complex medical treatment.
