Impact evidence
Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.
Programs described in its return (1)
- $337,594 spent. The Olive branch expends substantially all of its annual income for its exempt purposes and therefore depends on the funds it annually solicits from the general public in order to carry out its activities on a normal and continuing basis. Since its inception The Olive Branch has been open to the public and it is estimated that 5,000 animals have been brought to the refuge and almost all of those have been placed with caring foster families. The Olive Branch is a refuge for animals whose families in the area can no longer take care of them or those animals that are abused and or neglected. In addition to rescue and refuge efforts the Olive Branch provides the following community services: * Animal Birth Control Program for stray and abandoned animals which is funded through donations. * Low-income assistance which provides low-income families an opportunity to spay/neuter their pets. * Tyler Consolidated High School students can earn community service hours as needed by helping take care of the animals and the grounds. * Peirpont Community and Technical College (located in Fairmont, WV) are provided community service hours for the veterinary technician program. * Community members are invited to tour the Olive Branch and are provided with education of the operations and the animals. * The Olive Branch also works with local schools, boy scouts, girl scouts and the local government as often as possible. The above description of the Olive Branch Animal Rescue and Refuge has been the description over the last 5 years and will continue to be the purpose into the future. There have been no amendments to the by-laws and The Olive Branch continues to operate on the kindness of the public, the donations of those members of the public as well as local governments, local community foundations and the continued support of the late Olive Barth.
