Programs described in its return (1)
- $221,907 spent. Each year Federal Post 19 family sponsors an array of activities for the community and veterans including a back to school block party where we provide more than 300 back packs and school supplies for neighbohood children. We collect and distribute blankets for homeless veterans, serve meals to veterans and seniors each Tuesday, deliver Thanksgiving dinners to seniors and shut-ins, give Christmas toys and baskets to neighborhood families, support students at Boys State and Maryland Freestate Challenge Academy and Jr ROTC at selected high schools. We donate to the James Mosher Baseball League, whose traveling team bears our name. Other donations include the Operation Comfort Warrior, Special Olympics, Maryland VETERANS Health Care System, and to needy and deserving individuals throughout the community. The American Leagion depends entirely on active participation and volunteerism. The organization belongs to the people and the communities it serves.
