Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $6,000 spent. To preserve a millennium of cultural heritage the Conservancy works in remote and sensitive areas on the Tibetan plateau to identify, document, and help protect historically and culturally significant pilgrimage sites, shrines, monasteries, nunneries, artwork and rare texts. Believing that preserving living culture is part of a broader holistic process encompassing both the economic and social needs of indigenous people, the Conservancy aims to provide culturally specific education and training programs for lay people and monastic communities in coordination with international and local development efforts
