  1. $124,364 spent. The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower voters and defend democracy. In election years, we assist county residents in becoming participants in our community and government by providing them with well-researched and unbiased information on critical issues, candid- ates, ballot questions, and voting. Our civic engagement, education & advocacy activities include conducting studies on local public policy issues through Resource Committees who prepare Fact Sheets to educate League members and the public and to provide background for the League Position on issues; and lobbying, testifying and working in alliance with other organizations in support of our priority positions.
  2. LWVMC activities also include providing multi-platform Civic Engage- ment and Education activities, such as monthly free-to-the-public Trending Topics; Speakers Bureau where we provide speakers on a range of topics to outside groups; Election Services where we contract with Homeowners and Condominium Associations and other communities to assist with their elections; and Polling Place Support Program to train and provide volunteers to monitor and evaluate county polling places on election day.
