Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $14.2 million spent. ELLINWOOD DISTRICT HOSPITAL'S (EDH) PRIMARY PROGRAM IS THE DELIVERY OF HEALTHCARE AND RELATED SERVICES TO PATIENTS FROM OUR DISTRICT AND THE SURROUNDING AREA. SERVICES INCLUDE INPATIENT ACUTE, SKILLED SWING-BED, AND INTERMEDIATE SWING-BED CARE SERVICES ALONG WITH OUTPATIENT SERVICES. DURING 2025, EDH COMPLETED SEVERAL PROJECTS TO INCREASE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE OR SAFETY TO OUR PATIENTS AND RESIDENTS. 1) DURING 2025, ELLINWOOD DISTRICT HOSPITAL ESTABLISHED A SKILLED SWING BED PROGRAM IN COLLABORATION WITH LARGER HEALTHCARE FACILITIES TO BETTER SERVE OUR AGING POPULATION. THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES PATIENTS WITH ACCESS TO STEP-DOWN CARE CLOSER TO HOME FOLLOWING HOSPITALIZATION, ALLOWING THEM TO CONTINUE THEIR RECOVERY IN A SUPPORTIVE, LOCAL SETTING BEFORE RETURNING HOME INDEPENDENTLY. BY PARTNERING WITH REGIONAL FACILITIES, WE HAVE EXPANDED ACCESS TO TRANSITIONAL CARE SERVICES, IMPROVED CONTINUITY OF CARE, AND HELPED PATIENTS REMAIN CONNECTED TO THEIR FAMILIES AND COMMUNITIES THROUGHOUT THE RECOVERY PROCESS. OUR PARTNERSHIPS WITH LARGER HEALTHCARE SYSTEMS IS ALLOWING ELLINWOOD RESIDENTS TO RECOVER AND REHAB IN THEIR HOME COMMUNITIES WHICH HAS MADE A POSITIVE IMPACT FOR THE PATIENT BUT ALSO THEIR FAMILIES. IN 2025 EDH CARED FOR 21 MORE PATIENTS. IN 2024 EDH SAW 196 INPATIENTS AND 2025 217 INPATIENTS. 2) THROUGHOUT 2025, OUR EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT EXPERIENCED CONTINUED GROWTH IN PATIENT VOLUMES, LEADING US TO RESTRUCTURE OUR PROVIDER CALL SCHEDULE TO BETTER MEET THE NEEDS OF OUR COMMUNITY. AS A RESULT, A DEDICATED PROVIDER IS NOW STAFFED IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY FROM 8:00 A.M. TO 5:00 P.M. THIS ENHANCEMENT HAS IMPROVED ACCESS TO TIMELY EMERGENCY CARE, INCREASED PROVIDER AVAILABILITY, AND STRENGTHENED OUR ABILITY TO DELIVER CRITICAL, LIFE-SAVING SERVICES WHEN PATIENTS NEED THEM MOST. BY EXPANDING DIRECT PROVIDER COVERAGE IN THE EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT, WE HAVE IMPROVED PATIENT CARE, REDUCED RESPONSE TIMES, AND REINFORCED OUR COMMITMENT TO PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY HEALTHCARE CLOSE TO HOME. WHEN COMPARING 2024 TO 2025 EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS. IN 2025 EDH CARED FOR 261 MORE PATIENTS. 2024 EDH 750 PATIENTS VS. 2025 1011 PATIENTS. 3) ANCILLARY SERVICES WHICH INCLUDES RADIOLOGY, LABORATORY, AND OUTPATIENT THERAPY SERVICES (PHYSICAL THERAPY, OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY, AND SPEECH THERAPY) HAVE DEMONSTRATED IMMENSE GROWTH. THAT GROWTH HAS IMPACTED THE COMMUNITY BY ALLOWING PATIENTS TO STAY IN THEIR SMALL COMMUNITY WHILE RECEIVING THERAPIES AND DIAGNOSTIC TESTING SEEN IN LARGER CITIES. IN 2025, SPEECH THERAPY IS NOW SEEING BOTH ADULTS AND PEDIATRICS FOR SPEECH DYSFUNCTION. IN ADDITION, EDH IS NOW ABLE TO KEEP SWALLOW STUDIES IN THE HOSPITAL INSTEAD OF TRANSFERRING THOSE PATIENTS TO ANOTHER FACILITY. RADIOLOGY IS PERFORMING ULTRASOUND STUDIES, MRI, CT, RADIOGRAPHY, AND EKG'S IN BOTH INPATIENT AND OUTPATIENT. LABORATORY SERVICES STARTED DIRECT ACCESS LAB TESTING. THIS IS ALLOWING CONSUMERS TO PERFORM LAB TESTING FOR CASH PRICES AND WITHOUT PHYSICIAN ORDERING.
