Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

- $57,917 spent. We are the Kansas Public Health Association (KPHA) and are dedicated to improving the health of people in Kansas. We achieve this by addressing a wide range of issues that impact both personal and environmental health, such as advocating for federal and state funding for health programs, promoting pollution control measures, developing policies and programs to combat chronic and infectious diseases, supporting a smoke-free society, and advancing professional education in public health. KPHA fosters collaboration among researchers, healthcare providers, administrators, educators, community advocates, and other health professionals, creating a unique, multidisciplinary environment for professional exchange, learning, and action. KPHA is the oldest and largest organization of public health professionals in the state, representing more than 800 members from over 50 occupations/organizations. KPHA has influenced policies and set priorities in public health for Kansas since 1920. In 2024, KPHA awarded 4 scholarships to students majoring in public health. We also hosted the in-person KPHA Annual Conference with approximately 150 attendees. We had speakers from different national organizations including The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB), the National Association of County and City Health Officials (NACCHO), and the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials (ASTHO). The president of the American Public Health Association was able to visit during the conference to address KPHA attendees. This along with expanding our partnerships and reach to incorporate more community-based organizations at our annual meeting were strengths. KPHA also hosted webinars for National Public Health Week. In 2024, KPHA hired an Executive Director. We also received confirmation that KPHA will receive funding for the voter voice program for the 2025 and 2026 legislative seasons.
