Womens Energy Network-Permian Basin
Public records raise at least one point you should look into before giving.
What it says it does
The primary exempt purpose of the Women's Energy Network - Permian Basin Chapter is to enhance professional development opportunities for women in the energy sector. This is accomplished through 1) our luncheon speaker series, where topics range from technical career presentations to personal empowerment; 2) mentorship and leadership opportunities; 3) philanthropical pursuits, supporting efforts such as scholarship programs; 4) our career development event, focusing on areas of concern or interest to our members; and 5) by creating opportunities and expanding prospects for networking.

Financial health
We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance
This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence
Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.
Programs described in its return (3)
- $16,357 spent. Speaker series: The luncheon speakers discussed industry volatility, graduate studies, community connection, and cybersecurity. These sessions were well-received and attendance continually rose. These events are open to chapter members, cross-chapter members, and non-members (for a nominal fee to cover the cost of their plate). Because the speaker sessions have consistent attendance, the presentation topics are strategized to cover relevant and timely concerns.
- $14,491 spent. Social Events: Social events include two membership drives, a holiday social, and our signature event. Membership drives are open to industry professionals and admission-free. The first membership drive attracted a new sponsor and board member interest. The second membership drive and signature event hit historical high attendance and increased awareness of the organization. Our EOY holiday social registration reached capacity and attracted new members. Since migration volatility is common in the industry, these events benefit newcomers through the experience of established Permian Basin residents. They also boost employment efforts for professionals seeking new opportunities.
- $10,000 spent. Scholarship: WENPB supports Young Women Energized, a scholarship program designed to provide financial relief for undergraduate students in STEM or Accounting. Applicants must be actively in college or high school seniors.
