Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $50,973 spent. UCRAF finished its 9th year owning and operating the Rowing Center located at 5001 Kellogg Ave. in Cincinnati. During the year, approximately 50-100 athletes used this facility every day during the rowing season. These athletes spanned every generation including youth (middle & high school), college and adult masters as well as learn-to-row adults. UCRAF continued its policy of welcoming and including all persons to our sport and rowing site regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation or religion. No serious rowing or other safety issues occurred during this time, which continues UCRAF's unblemished safety track record of establishing a rowing environment where coaches and athletes can operate safely. UCRAF continues to host two resident teams which included the University of Cincinnati Rowing Club (open to all students regardless of ability) as well as the Queen City Rowing Club (open to athletes of all ages including middle school, high school, college and adult). UCRAF continued to fund and implement security enhancements at its site to ensure safety of equipment and athletes. These included lighting, fencing and a new gate. In addition UCRAF enjoyed the first full year of a new JetDock ramp designed for access to our "summer docks" located on the bank of the Little Miami River, adjacent to our boat ramp. UCRAF's Board also implemented a new site management process for its rowing site given the departure of long-time volunteer / site manager / founder Rolf Linder. A new site manager was hired as a result, and supervised by UCRAF Board members. Plans were also made and implemented by the UCRAF Board to fund and construct a new boat shelter, which was installed at the end of the year. The UCRAF Board continued its diligent supervision of the affairs of the organization and the rowing site by meeting monthly, raising funds and carefully stewarding our assets and relationships with our members. In this regard we have received donations to support our activities and to support our rowing athletes and coaches.
