Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $5,143 spent. AIHS hosts a website with many presentations, lectures and other educational resources for the benefit of our members. Some information is freely available at this website to the pain and headache community as well. Also maintain an online medical journal where we accept manuscripts for publication as open access: https://www.ahmjournal.com/
  2. $60,711 spent. Millions of Americans are suffering from bad headaches and there is a paucity in headache specialist. It is estimated to have one headache doctor for every 100k headache patients. Health care providers must be adequately trained and educated to identify and implement appropriate multimodal interventional treatment options for medically refractory or treatment resistant head, neck and facial pain. AIHS hosts multiple meetings and workshops every year to educate and train physicians on the diagnosis and management of intractable headaches. During 2025, 1 in-person sessions were held.
  3. $215 spent. This is the cost to maintain an online program if it is necessary to be utilized. It was a priority to provide in person events in 2025.
