LIVING HOPE MINISTRIES HAS BEEN CONNECTED WITH THE ORPHANAGE FOR 10 YEARS. HOPE HOUSE IS A BEAUTIFUL FAMILY OF APPROXIMATELY 16 CHILDREN AND TEENAGERS, COMPLETELY LOVED BY THEIR FATHER GOD. THE CHILDREN ARE EDUCATED AND CARED FOR AT THE ORPHANAGE. LHM PROVIDES A MONTHLY DONATION OF 54 POUNDS OF BEEF, CHICKEN AND LIVER TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE SOURCES OF PROTEIN FOR THE CHILDRENS NUTRITION. A VISITING MISSION TEAM PROVIDED A MAJOR REMODELING PROJECT OF THE CHILDRENS DORMITORIES AND THE KITCHEN IN 2025. LHM DONORS ALSO PROVIDE FOR CHRISTMAS GIFTS EACH YEAR FOR ALL THE CHILDREN. THE CONGREGATION OF IGLESIA ESPERANZA VIVA VISITS THE ORPHANAGE SEVERAL TIMES A YEAR TO PROVIDE SPIRITUAL TEACHING TO THE CHILDREN, A DAY OF FUN ACTIVITIES, AND TO CONTINUE BUILDING LONG TERM RELATIONSHIPS. TWO OF THE GIRLS WHO GREW UP AT HOPE HOUSE ARE CURRENTLY COMPLETING COLLEGE DEGREES AND ARE NOW ACTIVE MEMBERS OF THE CHURCH.

PAST PROJECTS INCLUDE BUILDING BLEACHERS FOR THE SCHOOL, NEW STAIRS AND SIDEWALKS, A SOCCER FIELD, CHRISTMAS GIFTS FOR THE STUDENTS EACH YEAR, 100 BAGS OF FOOD DONATED TO FAMILIES DURING THE CHRISTMAS SEASON, AND AN ANNUAL DONATION OF SCHOOL SUPPLIES AND/OR BACKPACKS FOR EACH CHILD.

EXPANSION PROJECT OF IGLESIA ESPERANZA VIVA (LIVING HOPE CHURCH): ISAIAH 54:2-3 SAYS, "ENLARGE THE PLACE OF YOUR TENT, AND LET THEM STRETCH OUT THE CURTAINS OF YOUR DWELLINGS; DO NOT SPARE; LENGTHEN YOUR CORDS, AND STRENGTHEN YOUR STAKES. FOR YOU SHALL EXPAND TO THE RIGHT AND TO THE LEFT, AND YOUR DESCENDANTS WILL INHERIT THE NATIONS, AND MAKE THE DESOLATE CITIES INHABITED." THE VISION OF THIS PROGRAM IS NOT ONLY TO ENLARGE A PHYSICAL STRUCTURE BUT TO EXPAND THE KINGDOM OF GOD HERE ON EARTH AS THE CHURCH GROWS, MORE SPACE IS NEEDED FOR SOULS TO BE SAVED AND DISCIPLED THROUGH THE POWERFUL AND LIVING WORD OF GOD. AS LIVING HOPE MINISTRIES CONTINUES TO DO OUTREACH IN SAN PEDRO SULA, A LARGER CHURCH IS NECESSARY FOR PEOPLE TO FIND HOPE AND A PLACE OF BELONGING AS A FAMILY. CHURCH MEMBERS ARE DISCIPLED THROUGH A 39-WEEK COURSE THAT EQUIPS THEM TO THEN REACH OUT TO ASSIST OTHERS PHYSICALLY AND SPIRITUALLY. LIVING HOPE CHURCH HAS BEEN EXPANDED TO ACCOMMODATE 250 PEOPLE ON A SUNDAY MORNING, INCLUDING ALL NEW CHAIRS IN THE SANCTUARY.

FROM 2016 TO 2024, JUST ONE TEAM CAME FROM IOWA EVERY OTHER YEAR. IN 2025, THE VISION FOR TEAMS WAS EXPANDED AND A SECOND TEAM CAME FROM FLORIDA. IN 2026, THERE WILL BE 3 TEAMS INCLUDING THE FIRST MEDICAL BRIGADE OUTREACH. EACH TEAM IS INVOLVED WITH PHYSICAL PROJECTS AT HOPE HOUSE, EL VOLCAN AND THE CHURCH. TEAMS ALSO DO HOSPITAL AND SCHOOL VISITS, STREET EVANGELISM, AND GIVE OUT FOOD AS NEEDED IN EACH LOCATION. MINISTRY HOUSING PROJECT: ON MAY 27, 2025, A NEW MINISTRY OF LIVING HOPE MINISTRIES BEGAN WITH THE PURCHASE OF A PLOT OF LAND OF AN AREA OF 1,009 VARAS IN THE COMMUNITY OF EL SAPOTAL. A VISION OF PROVIDING LOW-COST HOUSING FOR CERTAIN MEMBERS OF THE CONGREGATION OF IGLESIA ESPERANZA VIVA HAD BEGUN, WITH THE VISION TO HELP FAMILIES THAT STRUGGLE TO PAY TO LIVE IN A HIGH RENT CITY ENVIRONMENT. THERE IS ENOUGH AREA TO DEVELOP 4 SINGLE FAMILY HOUSING UNITS ON THE PURCHASED LAND. IN NOVEMBER OF 2025, A TRACTOR WAS HIRED AND THE LAND WAS CLEARED TO MAKE WAY FOR THE DESIGN ARCHITECT TO FORM A SITE PLAN FOR THE UNITS. EVEN THOUGH THIS IS A LONG-TERM PROJECT THAT MAY TAKE SEVERAL YEARS TO COMPLETE, IT WILL SERVE A NEED WITHIN THE CHURCH COMMUNITY THAT IS PRESSING AND VERY APPARENT TO THOSE THAT KNOW THE INDIVIDUALS WHICH WILL BE SERVED BY THIS PROJECT.
