Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $89,130 spent. THE CANAL MARKET DISTRICT AND ENTERPRISE HUB ("CMDEH") COMPLETED ITS TENTH YEAR OF PROGRAMMING IN 2025. WE AGAIN HOSTED AN OUTDOOR SEASONAL FARMERS MARKET FOR SIX MONTHS OF THE YEAR (MAY-OCTOBER). ALSO, WE EXTENDED OUR MARKET TO BE YEAR-ROUND, WITH THE ADDITION OF AN INDOOR MARKET AT THE ARCADE (NOV-APRIL). WE PARTICIPATED IN THE PRODUCE PERKS PROGRAM ALL SEASON, WHICH ALLOWS SNAP RECIPIENTS TO RECEIVE UP TO $25 EXTRA PER DAY TO SPEND ON FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES. BETWEEN SNAP REDEMPTIONS AND PRODUCE PERKS, WE DISTRIBUTED OVER $30,000 IN FOOD BENEFITS TO LOW-INCOME FAMILIES IN OUR AREA. EACH OF OUR MARKETS HOSTS 50+ VENDORS, SMALL BUSINESS PEOPLE WHO ARE DIRECTLY IMPACTED BY THE OPPORTUNITY TO SELL AT OUR VENUE. IN ADDITION, WE ALSO MANAGE THE CANAL MARKET PAVILION AND MAKE THE SPACE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC FOR EVENTS.
