What it says it does

Tool Lending Library- nearly 1,000 members borrowed tools in 2025. Volunteers ensure tools are in good repair and ready to use. Borrowers are maintaining and improving their homes and yards with our tools, plus working on their cars and bikes. At our mobile repair events, over a hundred community members benefited from repairs to their personal items, including tools, kitchen appliances, household lights, fans, sewing machines and electronic gear, textiles, bicycles, etc. Volunteers did these repairs during one-day events around our metro area that drew crowds.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $42,817 spent. Nearly 1000 members borrowed over 1,000 of our 1,600 tools over the year. We've recorded over 6,000 loans to those members. Some of those tools have been borrowed 50 or more times. Our volunteers ensure the tools are in good repair and ready to use, between borrowers. About a third of those member borrowers are new users of our service. Borrowers are maintaining and improving their homes and yards with our tools, plus working on their cars and bikes.
  2. $5,586 spent. Scores of community members benefitted from repairs to their personal items over the year, including manual and power tools, kitchen tools & appliances, household lights, fans, sewing machines and electronic gear, textiles -- garments, outdoor gear -- and bicycles & skateboards. Volunteers did these repairs during one-day events around our metropolitan area that drew crowds. We partnered with other community organizations including youth workforce readiness programs to share the principles of repair and re-use.
