Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $141,471 spent. This past fiscal year, we took in dogs and cats that meet our mission, had them receive thorough veterinary care and adopted them out. We received dogs both from owner surrenders and through transfers from shelters, including Kent County Animal Shelter, Harbor Humane Society, and the Humane Society of Monroe County. One of our cats, Cole, was recognized by Petfinder as a Transformation of the Year after we restored him to health. Additionally, we did our first ever podcast talking about making plans for your pets. We participated in several community events including Bark in the Park, adoption events in parks and local stores
