Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $81,492 spent. Support for civic community improvement endeavors, local schools, existing non-profits and other organizations seeking to raise the standard of life in the local context. Additionally, we will assist with the start of new faith communities and neighborhood focused churches to assist community residents with spiritual guidance and counsel. We will be enabled to implement these supporting activities by recruiting students from institutions of higher education from across the nation for a one year urban service experience in partnership with the startup of new neighborhood focused church. Urban Islands will also recruit the church starters to lead these localized projects and maintain the ongoing service to the community with neighborhood residents who desire to stregthen the conectedness of their local neighborhood. All charitable services and programs will be provided without regard to race, ethnicity or religion of the recipient. To maximize our impact, we need to collaborate with other non-profit organizations that fall under the 501c3 section of the internal revenue code.
