Programs described in its return (3)
- $6.4 million spent. Early Larning Programs: Operated two types of early learning programs, a center-based preschool and a home visiting program, serving more than 350 children and their families across King County. The programs provided high-quality, culturally responsive early childhood education, developmental screenings, and family support services. Both models emphasized inclusion, bilingual learning, and school readiness, ensuring equitable access for immigrant and refugee families.
- $501,674 spent. Adult Education and Professional Development: Provided over 1,500 hours of training to more than 1,100 child care professionals. Trainings covered culturally responsive practices, trauma-informed care, early childhood development, and leadership in early childhood development, and leadership in early learning. Participants gained professional credentials, enhanced their skills, and strengthened the quality of care within their programs and communities.
- $80,303 spent. Technical Assistance for Child Care Providers: Offered hands-on technical assistance to over 150 emerging family child care providers, many of whom were new immigrants or first-time business owners. Support included licensing guidance, facility readiness, business planning, and compliance with state and local regulations. This initiative helped increase access to high-quality, culturally diverse child care options across Washington State.
