Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. Our program provided free walk-up kayaking for 12,065 people, including 1,549 children. Over 4,469 of those participants were repeat visitors. (We love our neighborhood regulars!) We had 96 people attend a new volunteer orientation in 2025 to learn how to get involved with MCBH. In total, our volunteers clocked over 889 volunteer shifts, which amounts to more than 3,100 volunteer hours contributed this year. We taught 45 classes on paddling skills and water safety, attended by a combined 307 attendees. Over 82 volunteers practiced on-water kayak rescues. A combined 243 paddlers participated in river trips over the course of the season.
