What it says it does

By 2020, the Pine Ridge Girls' School aims to be recognized as a top independent 6-12 Secondary School and set a new national standard by sending 100% of our first graduating class of Oglala Lakota girls off to college. Our goal is to create a model of Native American education in The Pine Ridge Girls' School--that not only benefits the Oglala Lakota, but also stands as a beacon for Native communities across the country to follow.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $741,577 spent. Pine Ridge Girls School has a decolonized approach to learning-a journey in partnership with families, educators, tribal leaders, food sovereignty initiatives, activists and organizers, and land-based science instructors. Our program cultivates a growth mindset and supports these youth to overcome personal trauma and academic barriers, resulting in our students gaining the confidence that feeds their self-worth and identity and allows them to succeed in education, find their voice, and seize their potential as a change-maker. Our supportive, culturally immersive, inquiry-based curriculum and all-girls environment is otherwise unavailable to these youth. Pine Ridge Girls School serves as a magnet school for Native American girls across all Seven Council Fires. Our long-term goal is to offer this empowering education to 250 young women each year.
