Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $15.9 million spent. Coordinated Entry (Welcome Center) The Brian Garcia Welcome Center (Welcome Center) is the front door to the Key Campus in downtown Phoenix. The Welcome Center is the only 24/7/365 walk-up location for homeless people in Maricopa County. Whether single adult, family with children or youth on their own, staff provides each client with diversion, assessment, resources, housing and service referrals with the primary goal of resolving homelessness. As the Continuum of Care approved lead for single adult coordinated entry, Keys to Change manages a network of access points, like the Welcome Center, across Maricopa County (40+ sites) ensuring that the assessment tool is utilized, data is entered reliably, and people are referred to housing. Keys to Change is responsible for ensuring high quality intake and assessment across this network, managing a by-name list of 8,000 people, holding weekly case conferencing sessions and matching clients to housing programs.
  2. Supportive Services Keys to Change operates the hub of collaboration on Key Campus in the Lodestar Day Resource Center (LDRC). The LDRC is open every day and hosts up to ten additional programs offered by partner agencies. Keys to Change manages the Day Room where upwards of 300 people per day utilize the space, for respite from weather, to wait for a program service, to charge telephones, use restrooms, and more. The Supportive Services team of Keys to Change also operates the Mail Room, Shower and Safe Storage programs for Campus clients to access mail, hygiene, and a safe area for their possessions.
  3. Respiro Shelter The Keys to Change Respiro Shelter provides a 24-hour safe place for people experiencing homelessness. The 6,300 square foot, 95-bed Respiro Shelter opened its doors in March 2022 and has been at full capacity since then. Individuals are allowed to stay in the shelter 24/7, with their pets and service animals. The facility includes storage options for client possessions and an outdoor patio for rest and reflection. By being on the Key Campus, clients have access to all the services from connection ID, healthcare, State benefits, and more.
