- $267,895 spent. SPAY AND NEUTER TRAINING FACILITY PHASE 1 and 2: Duo Duo Project (DDP) believes the best way to stop the meat trade is to attack the trade from two fronts: Education (to reduce the demand) and Spay and Neuter (to reduce the supply). DDP has spent most our resources in the past on one of the two major initiatives: education. It's to change the young generation's hearts and minds and to reduce consumption through our programs listed in 4b-4d. In 2024, we started the 2nd important initiative: spay and neuter training and operation. To reduce the supplies. Most of the meat trade victims are stolen strays and people's pets. Secured a land and building for the spay and neuter training facility. This facility will be used not only to teach young vets new, less invasive surgical skills for spay and neuter procedures, but also to teach local animal activists how to organize and carry out Trap-Neuter-Release (TNR). Our goal is to build a veterinary team that can help scale TNR work across rural areas in China where most dog meat trade victims are. Phase one (structure building) started in fall 2024 and completed in Sept 2025 Phase two started. (utilities set up, equipments, furniture and supplies purchasing, etc.) Estimated allocation: 52% of $515,789 ($267,895): 1- Phase one construction finish touches:(indoor) roofing, lighting, AC/heating, windows, doors. ($197,500); (outdoor) courtyard and road pavement ($29,870) 2-spay and neuter campaigns: medical supplies, local vet pay expenses ($11,870); 3-Taiwanese Vet and Vet techs travel expenses (28,655)
- $149,580 spent. EDUCATION and COMMUNITY OUTREACH: We continued and expanded the highly acclaimed program, "Upfront and Close with Dogs and Cats Experience." This program has proven to be both popular and successful. This initiative was strategically implemented in collaboration with numerous prominent shopping centers across cities where dog and cat eating and abuse are prevalent. These events have significantly broadened our outreach, allowing us to connect with a larger audience, including those who may have never had the opportunity to interact with dogs and cats before. The positive response from these initiatives underscores our commitment to fostering community engagement and education. In 2025, we expanded to another shopping center in Yulin, where the dog meat festival is held. As of Sept 2025, approximately 80,000 local people have attended various events that DDP sponsored - Estimated allocation: 29% of $$515,789 ($149,580) 1- annual venue rentals, utilities, etc ($127,500) 2- marketing and advertising ($3,800) 3- operations ($13,737) 4 - teaching materials and event gifts ($4,543)
- $14,030 spent. SHELTER SUPPORT: Continued shelter and animal care projects in 2 cities (reduced from 3 cities), caring for a total of about 100 dogs and 20 cats. We reduced our shelter support again because crowdfunding has become popular in China and some shelters have become self sustainable. And we received more dog and cat food donations in 2025. Estimated allocation: 3% of $515,789 ($14,030). 1- rent, operation, utilities ($9,800) 2- food, spay-neuter, vaccines, and medical ($4,230).
- $84,284 spent. CONTINUE TO SUPPORT AND EXPAND THE COMPASSION CITY CAMPAIGN: 1) Youth Center is the first youth center built under our Compassion City Campaign before COVID-19. Estimated allocation: 16% of $515,789 ($84,284): 1-annual rent ($49,200) 2-utilities and internet ($7,000) 3-supplies ($4,500) 4- hosting community outreach programs ($9,584) 5- annual operation and maintenance: ($13,000)
