Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (2)
  1. $71,207 spent. VIVA College Scholarship Fund: Latinos Count awarded thirty-four (34), $2,000 scholarships to college-bound or currently enrolled Latino students in northern Indiana. The scholarship program requires students to have at least one parent of Hispanic/Latino ancestry. The organizations scholarship committee considers grade point average, extra curricular activities and a 500-word personal essay.
  2. $27,575 spent. Career Exploration: Held three sessions in Fort Wayne and Hammond. More than 600 Latino high school youth met with Latino mentors who spoke about their journey from high to the job they now hold. The students heard from subject matter experts about five positive pathways from school: enrollment in college, the workplace, military service, skilled trades apprenticeship, and start your own business.
