Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $130,494 spent. Rescued and Rehabilitated 197 Animals in Need - During 2025, Milos Dog Rescue took in 173 animals and provided medical care for critical illnesses and injuries, pregnancy, neonatal care, and various other conditions. All rescues were spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped prior to being placed with their adoptive families. Additionally, through our community outreach program, Milos covered medical cost for 24 families that could not afford to cover medical expenses for their pets. Enabling families to keep their pets through financial assistance, not only helps the families, it helps reduce the number of animals being surrendered to shelters and rescues.
  2. $21,244 spent. Milos continued to be 100% volunteer operated. Milos Dog Rescue takes corporate governance very seriously, by having no salaried employees, over 95% of donations go directly to program expenses for the rescue and care of the animals. In 2025, with the assistance of volunteers, Milos completed construction of an air conditioned kennel. The kennel combined with our growing volunteer/foster network allows rescues to be housed in a secure, loving environment.
  3. $51,199 spent. Fostered and successfully placed 156 animals in permanent homes. During 2025, the majority of rescues were housed in foster homes from intake to adoption. Foster families provide loving, caring homes for the animals. Milos covers all expenses including food, bedding, crates, toys, transportation and medical. Adoptive families are thoroughly vetted and matched to rescue to ensure animals and adopters succeed in forming permanent forever families.
