Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

  1. $61,357 spent. Qubit's primary program service is to produce, promote, and deliver concerts and other interdisciplinary events to the the people of New York City and State. In FY25, Qubit served over 1200 people in 3 unique events and 7 performances in New York City. For the past sixteen seasons our mission has been to bring together diverse audiences and artists alike in unique & compelling ways. We strive to foster a community in which our attendees experience captivating works-both extant and newly commissioned, created by artists who are themselves driven by discovering new forms of expression. Focused on the use of new music technologies and how they can advance performance practice and sonic aesthetics, Qubit is a curatorial and production platform for emerging and mid-career artists dedicated to embarking upon the uncertain path to finding their own voice through risk-taking and experimentation. In 2025, Qubit produced three major concert events in New York City. These included "CHANT" at the Church of St Luke and St Matthew in Brooklyn on June 15, featuring the Ekmeles Vocal Ensemble with instrumental performers. On October 9th, the Chicago-based "Beyond this Point" percussion duo visited New York, with a performance of new interdisciplinary works at the Center for Performance Research in Brooklyn. Lastly, Qubit co-produced a the US-premiere of Dutch composer and harpist Andrea Voets' "For Real" at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. Featuring five performances from November 19-23, this concert was the first performance of Voets' work in the United States, and the shows at BAM also included post-concert discussions with prominent academics and public intellectuals. This event was assisted with funding from the Dutch Cultural Embassy of New York.
