  3. $31,134 spent. Middle school is a time of transition, so the goal of our Mind Masters Wellness Workshop for 6th-8th grade students is to get the youth who attend thinking about how they view themselves, how they handle mental and emotional stressors, and how to incorporate healthy coping strategies when faced with stress, pressures, and challenges. Its our intent that the youth will adopt the practices, lessons, and strategies shared so they become mentally and emotionally resilient as they continue to grow. Mind Masters includes a keynote session for students, as well as a separate session just for parents. In addition to the thought-provoking breakout sessions, the youth engage in their choice of an interactive therapeutic session with past options including yoga, art therapy, pet therapy, dance, photography, and physical movement.
  4. $11,005 spent. Since 2013, the foundation hosts an annual Youth in Action Camp every June for more than 100 kids ages six to 14 who are members of a military family. Hosted on MacDill Air Force Base, the one-day camp includes games and activities, boxed lunch, camp t-shirt, and more. The purpose of the Youth in Action Camp is to emphasize one of the foundations three pillars by encouraging youth to remain healthy and physically active, even in the face of challenges such as deployment and relocation.

OUR SALUTE TO SCHOLARS PROGRAM PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIP MONEY ANNUALLY TO FOUR HIGH SCHOOL AGED RECIPIENTS IN THE TAMPA BAY AREA WHO RECEIVED SCHOLARSHIPS OF $500, $2,000, $1,000, AND $3,000. THE FOUNDATION ALSO AWARDS THREE SCHOLARSHIPS TO VETERANS IN THE SAME AMOUNTS WHO NEED TO COMPLETE A DEGREE OR CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDITS TO KEEP OR OBTAIN A CIVILIAN JOB.
