Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. $4,218 spent. The Accelerated Reader Program is purchased annually by the PTO and is used throughout the entire school year, benefiting approximately 290 students in Grades 2-5. It is a software program that helps students personalize and enhance their reading experience - they test to determine their reading level, then choose books that are at their level. When finished reading a book, students then take a comprehension quiz and it helps students and teachers determine the status of their learning.
  2. $4,047 spent. Missoula Childrens Theatre is a touring theatre program that the PTO hires annually. It includes directing about 60 students (Kindergarten through 5th Grade) for one week, culminating in a final professional production that is performed for a large audience of peers, parents, teachers, and community members.
  3. $3,600 spent. ClassWallet is a purchasing program used by the school district. Through this program, teachers are able to use digital funds to acquire items they need for their classrooms. The PTO put money into this program this year and it affected 21 classroom teachers and 15 specialist teachers. This helps automate their approval and purchasing process, and empowers educators to purchase items on their own.
