Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. $500 spent. Brooklyn Art Song Society produced live classical music (art song) concerts in the borough of Brooklyn, New York. The season featured professional musicians (singers and pianists) and reached and audience of over 1,000. Senior citizens and students received free admission. Artists presented outreach to underserved communities. Subscriber and patrons utilized the digital concert hall, left over from the year of the pandemic. This increased our audience to across the country. Commissions of new music by outstanding young composers were featured in our New Voices series (last 3 concerts of season) Income for commissions comes from a government grant and donations and ticket sales.
