Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $1,100 spent. Project Attica has been able to take the artivism workshops into neighborhoods where poverty and underfunded education systems are the norm thus being able to bring free art opportunities for children and community members alike reaching thousands of youth in New York City alone. We have spoken about our work at conferences surrounding art, activism and the role they play in dismantling mass incarceration in the United States at the Columbia School of Social Work. This work includes providing artivism activities in the form of painting.
  2. Project Attica has been able to successfully integrate restorative justice circles into our toolbox of services providing communities and groups with the ability to hold their own circles. This model of work promotes healing, well being and unity through story telling and we have been able to offer it to groups who are working through a range of issues to support their members.
  3. $3,000 spent. This year Project Attica added mural-making to its list of activities and programs to underserved communities in New York City with the aim of beautifying neighborhoods and activating spaces with the power of uplifting messages woven with art.
  4. $500 spent. During 2024 we focused our outreach across Queens by connecting with community leaders who dedicated their lives to serving us in a variety of roles whether it is the cashier person, the day laborer, the person who greets us every day in the businesses that keep our communities growing. We reached them to gather their stories and create portraits of them, which we then displayed in an art show.
