Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Programs described in its return (1)
  1. The GWC sponsors the Discover Whitewater Series (DWS) half marathon, half marathon relay, 5K, and Fit Kid Shuffle, and funds raised from that event have provided to six different non-profit charity partners over the past four years (Bethel House, UW-Whitewater Athletics, Working for Whitewaters Wellness (W3), J-Hawk Aquatic Club, Whitewater Unified School District, and Whitewater Aquatic Center). The GWC has also provided scholarships for people to be involved in the Leadership Walworth and the Youth Leadership Development Walworth County, which aim to develop leadership skills and promote becoming involved, engaged, and committed to the community. GWC has also helped establish a non-profit literacy and academic excellence program, which has now formed its own non-profit organization known as Whitewater LEADS. To further academic efforts, GWC also works closely with WUSD to dramatically raise student ACT test scores. Furthermore, GWC has provided a forum for various initiatives, groups, or organizations that would like to present to the GWC general members to raise funds for various causes. The GWC also serves to educate the legislature and public on the importance for the expansion of Highway 12, as well as sustainable funding for UW-Whitewater.
