ASAP of Anderson engaged community partners within the 12 sectors for advancement in the prevention of substance misuse in Anderson County, Tennessee through awareness, education, and policy change. We saw a second-year decrease in overdose deaths for Anderson County, decreasing from 75 to 71. Although the state saw a decrease in overdose deaths statewide for the first time, East Tennessee remains the highest number of deaths of the grand divisions in the last data year. With increased education, training, and distribution of naloxone we are seeing positive trends in these numbers as we come together as a community to combat the opioid epidemic. This past year we implemented Care Coordination, connecting individuals from EMS referrals to treatment and recovery resources. Continued in Schedule O During our 2025 administration of the Student Survey, 13.5 % of Anderson County students surveyed said that the use of vapes would pose a slight risk to no risk at all to someone's health, 2.1% of students reported any vaping use (nicotine, marijuana, and/or flavoring), 19.8% of high school students in Anderson County report it is fairly easy or very easy to get alcohol, and 20.9% of high school students in Anderson County perceive marijuana as low risk. Through a targeted approach to collecting process indicators that will provide a continuous record of inputs and work accomplished we are implementing (SMART) planned activities for each component of the Eight Strategies to Affect Community Change.
