Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (3)
  1. Funds were allocated to help restore a community hit hard by a hurricane. CGC helped people in need purchase building materials and new coffee plants as well as providing money for food. It is difficult to quantify exactly how many people were helped but possibly as many as 150.
  2. $678 spent. Funds were used to help with coffee production, things such as fertilizer, new plants, equipment purchase or repair. We work specifically with a co-op consisting of 10 families but have aided other growers as they submit an action plan. That would probably bump the number helped to more like 20 families.
  3. $10 spent. Community partnerships awarded applicants with money to improve a family-run hotel, to purchase and renovate a bus to be used in a small local tourism business and to buy food for people who had no food or money. Possible estimate as to number of people helped would be 25-50.
