- $991,115 spent. Since 1986, WEN has empowered women to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and our shared community. We play a critical role in supporting women who are disproportionately impacted by systemic racism and patriarchal structures, helping them move beyond unemployment, underemployment, and cyclical poverty. WEN provides more than employment assistance-we promote personal growth. Our clients learn to recognize their strengths, set attainable goals, and work toward reducing debt to build long-term financial stability. We meet a vital community need by offering no-cost employment preparation and financial coaching. As the job market rapidly evolves through Applicant Tracking Systems and AI, WEN continues to adapt our tools and training to ensure successful job placement. Many clients require additional education on how modern hiring filters and technologies work, and WEN has responded by creating an introductory AI literacy certification for clients and the general public. WEN served 1,695 unduplicated clients this year (1,256 new), through both online and in-person programming. We also launched the Employers Connection program, offering small-group sessions where selected job seekers meet directly with employers twice per month. Our client demographics remain consistent: 68% live below the federal poverty level, 73% are single or divorced, and 51% identify as a person of color.
