- FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF SEPTEMBER 1, 2024 UNTIL AUGUST 31, 2025 OUR ORGANIZATION CONTINUED THEIR WORK WITH REPRESENTATION AND PROMOTION OF TEACHER RIGHTS AND INFORMING MEMBERS ABOUT CURRENT EDUCATIONAL ISSUES, NEGOTIATION OF TEACHER CONTRACTS, REPRESENTATION AND PROMOTION OF TEACHER RIGHTS, AND INFORMING MEMBERS ABOUT CURRENT EDUCATIONAL ISSUES. FOR THE YEAR ENDED AUGUST 31, 2025, THE ORGANIZATION HAD 455 MEMBERS.OUR ORGANIZATION REVIEWED INFORMATION ON THE INDIVIDUALS RUNNING FOR THE BRAINERD SCHOOL BOARD, ENDORSED 3 CANDIDATES, WORKED TO CREATE MAILINGS FOR THE ENDORSEMENTS, HELD MULTIPLE PHONE BANKING EVENINGS AND ATTEMPTED CONTACT WITH 7,263 ELIGIBLE VOTERS WITHIN OUR VOTING DISTRICT. 2 OF THE 3 ENDORSED CANDIDATES WON THEIR RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN IN NOVEMBER 2024. WE WORKED WITH EDUCATION MINNESOTA TO SECURE FUNDING FOR THE LOCAL ELECTION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM WHICH REIMBURSED A PORTION OF THE ELECTION EXPENSES INCURRED.
- OUR ORGANIZATION CONTINUED TO SUPPORT GRADUATING SENIORS WHO HAVE A PARENT WITHIN OUR UNION. THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS WERE COLLECTED, REVIEWED, AND WE AWARDED FOUR SCHOLARSHIPS THAT WERE $1000 TO EACH INDIVIDUAL. OUR ORGANIZATION ALSO HELPED TO HONOR THE TEACHER OF THE YEAR RECIPIENT WITH TOTAL EXPENSES BEING $530.48 OUR ORGANIZATION RECOGNIZES RETIRING CERTIFIED STAFF WITH A $200 CHECK PER INDIVIDUAL, WE HAD 15 MEMBERS RETIRE ($3000).
