Financial health

We do not score finances when yearly spending is very small or the return has too little detail. The ratios stop meaning much at that size.

Governance

This organization files the short tax form, which does not ask about boards, policies or audits. That is normal for a small charity and is not a mark against it.

Impact evidence

Describes programs. Its tax return describes what it does but we have found no measurable results in it.

Programs described in its return (4)
  1. $6,177 spent. To provide funding for the expansion of Catholic radio outside of Nebraska (acquisition of stations). A loan was made to Oklahoma Catholic Broadcasting Inc. (OKBI) with the intent of Spirit Catholic Radio acquiring the assets of OCBI at a later date. Funds were used to establish an LLC under the name Spirit Catholic Radio Oklahoma, LLC (SCRO). An asset purchase agreement was signed in December of 2025 between OKBI and SCRO. Once the APA was accepted by the FCC, the loan is to be forgiven and included as an expense toward the acquisition of OCBI assets for $1.
  2. To provide funding for the benefit of VSS Catholic Communications, Inc. dba Spirit Catholic Radio Network (SCRN). Past, present and planned activities: VSS Catholic Communications, Inc. has surplus funds that were targeted as a reserve for unplanned expenses, but also for expansion of stations, expansion of programming and to provide services through an alliance of stations in need and stations who are able to help.
  3. To provide funding for the creation of programming with the intent to distribute this programming through the EWTN Radio Network.
  4. To provide for the funding for the creation of the Catholic Media Alliance, LLC- a membership organization that would provide services (development, marketing, programming, social media and engineering) for a fee. There will be members that provide services and members that will contract for services. Members retain ownership of their apostolate. Having this entity to provide funding for these various initiatives allows for a single entity to accept donations from various geographic areas that are being served. A number of stations have been contacted and expressed an interest. This won't start until the Oklahoma Catholic Radio Network is transitioned and a capital campaign completed.
