Programs described in its return (3)
- $17,000 spent. Intergenerational Literacy Program (ILP) - Chelsea Education Foundation serves as the fiscal agent for the ILP, a Chelsea Public Schools instructional program that serves adult learners seeking English acquisition skills and a high school credential. ILP provides literacy instruction with the goals of strengthening English language and literacy skills, encouraging home literacy, and promoting the literacy and academic success of the children of adult learners. The ILP runs day and evening instructional sessions throughout the year. In 2025, the ILP served 323 adults and 62 children. Its major fund was the Anna B. Stearns Foundation ($15,000). The program also receives direct support from Chelsea Public Schools as well as an Adult Basic Education grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts awarded to Chelsea Public Schools.
- $4,094 spent. Chelsea Inversant College Savings Program - Chelsea Education Foundation serves as the fiscal agent for Chelsea Inversant, a savings program that, in partnership with the nonprofit Inversant, Inc., challenges families of Chelsea Public Schools' students to save up to $1500 for college expenses that are matched, dollar for dollar, from donations made to Chelsea Education Foundation for Chelsea Inversant. 8 students were enrolled in Chelsea Inversant as of December 2025. Chelsea Inversant promotes college readiness and family engagement by encouraging savings and engaging parents through financial aid workshops, outreach, and other activities. Chelsea Education Foundation provided 10 scholarships totaling $5,637.07 in 2024. In the summer of 2022, Inversant announced that it would no longer be offering its scholarship program and was merged into its sister organization, La Vida Scholars. Students at the high school will now be directed to apply to the La Vida Scholars Program. The 8 students that remain in the Inversant program will continue with CEF involvement and be supported under the terms and conditions of the Inversant program. Students enrolled in the Inversant program, but who have not yet graduated will be provided support from La Vida and Chelsea Public Schools.
- Chelsea Reach Program - This is an afterschool and summer program serving high school and middle school students attending Chelsea Public Schools (CPS). The overall aim of the Reach Program is to improve academic success and to support college and career readiness. CPS serves as the lead agency for the program and Chelsea Education Foundation serves as the fiscal agent. In 2025, CPS undertook a redesign of the program and re-opened for enrollment in February 2026. During this redesign period, the program did not seek any grants through Chelsea Education Foundation. This program also benefits from direct support from CPS and expects to receive state and federal grants awarded directly to CPS for Reach.
